Our Works

The Health & Safety of our workers, our customers and the general public demands our total attention. Whether its in the workshop or on site, we conform to the tightest Health & Safety practices possible. All work is carried out in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.

All of our staff are fully trained in the very latest Health & Safety issues through an independent third party.

For each contract, we develop a site specific Health & Safety plan, utilising specific method statements and risk assessments for all areas and tasks.

Each job has a dedicated Health & Safety manager responsible for day to day Health & Safety issues as well as maintaining a Health & Safety log. All general Health & Safety issues are covered as well as the requirements of our customers. Regular safety meetings are held and all near misses recorded.

As a structural Engineering company there are a multitude of Health & Safety requirements facing us from issues common to all companies such as PAT testing and first aid provision through to industry specific issues such as Working at Heights, Safety in Gas welding and Specialist Plant & Machinery Operation.

All of our staff are kept up to date with the latest Health & Safety guidance and receive regular training including City & Guilds CITB accreditation, Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) certification, IPAF and Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training. We also operate a programme of continual development and learning amongst our employees.

All Health & Safety is co-ordinated from the start in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. This encompasses:

  • Appointing the right people
  • Allowing adequate time
  • Providing information to your team
  • Ensuring you and your team communicate and co-operate
  • Ensuring suitable management arrangements are in place
  • Ensuring adequate welfare facilities on site
  • Ensuring workplaces are designed correctly

Through these methods we have achieved an enviable long term safety record with no injuries since we started business in 1996.

We understand that Health & Safety could be your number one factor in choosing a structural engineering company, it would certainly be ours. As such we are happy to answer any questions you might have about out Health & Safety policies either formally or informally. For more information feel free to call.
